LA FERME DU DOMAINE : A BRIEF PRESENTATION

Background

La Ferme du Domaine was created in 1988 and since 1989, the business has enjoyed constant growth. Specializing in market garden production, La Ferme du Domaine is a member of the Quebec Produce Growers Association, the Quebec Produce Marketing Association and the Union des Producteurs Agricoles (UPA) du Quebec [a professionnal farmers' union organization in Quebec]. In 1998, La Ferme du Domaine added another activity to its line of business by opening its doors to agricultural tourism and welcoming groups of children, students and adults.

Location

Located in Shawinigan, a city of 51,958 inhabitants, in the heart of the region of La Mauricie, the Farm is 150 km from Montreal and 150 km from Quebec City. The farm's area: 320 hectares (250 hectares of land that is suitable for cultivation and 70 hectares of forest).
